Outlook Sends Email To Junk Even Though No Automatic Filtering Is On
Well the title says it all. Even though I disabled the automated processing of junk email in Outlook by checking the very clearly labeled option which says “No Automatic Filtering. Mail from blocked senders is still moved to the Junk Email folder.” Unfortunately, no matter how clearly labeled it is, it simply doesn’t work. Email constantly goes to Junk. Yes, I made sure I had no “blocked senders.” Still going to Junk.
Finally I found the answer. You have to go to Office 365 online and set the option there. Where is said option? You’d probably think it is under “Options > Mail > Automatic Processing.” You’d be wrong. Why would it be in the place that makes sense? It is actually under “Options > Mail > Accounts > Block or allow” where there is a very nice “Block or allow” option and sure enough mine was set to “Automatically filter junk email.” Just change it to “Don’t move email to my Junk Email folder” and save.
Why that email function is under accounts I’m sure I have no idea, but alas here its location is immortalized forever. Until they move it to some other ridiculous place. Why the Outlook client isn’t smart enough to sync up the settings I’ll never know. That would make too much sense. But I guess I’ll just have to let that one go too.
